Angell, founded in 1915, is recognized internationally as a leader in animal medicine and has the reputation as one of the finest veterinary teaching hospitals in North America. Angell serves the greater Boston and scenic New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center. Angell offered the very first veterinary internship in the world beginning in 1941, running continuously to present day. Angell was instrumental in establishing specialty veterinary medicine. Our non-profit hospital has a long history of providing training not only to veterinary interns and residents but also to veterinary students.
