As a ServiceNow architect, you will be required to utilize your experience to develop, maintain, and enhance the architecture of the SSAs ServiceNow environment(s) in a way that align to the overall ServiceNow roadmap while also remaining flexible to accommodate for changes in strategy or initial roadmap based on client needs.
*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze and translate business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve complex business objectives
Establish and advise on the technical governance related domains and associated processes
Drive solid platform health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations and customizations that do not align to ServiceNow leading practices.
Work with clients and ServiceNow teams to establish delivery operating model governance to ensure successful go-lives, end-user adoption and on-going support
Architectures developed must prioritize Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance
In this role you will be required to work collaboratively with the client to understand the business needs, long term vision, and short-term goals to create a dynamic architecture on which ServiceNow applications and solutions can be developed on to meet those needs.
Guide clients down a prescriptive solution design and manage through the technical implementation decision points
You will collaborate with the rest of the ServiceNow teams (consisting of developers and administrators) to understand the development requirements and challenges and create architectures that addresses those challenges and enables rapid development.
You will work with the other ServiceNow teams to provide guidance and mentorship for junior team members, and other ServiceNow staff on architecture best practices.
In this role you will develop architectures that allow for solutions across the full suite of ServiceNow offerings. In addition, you will determine and implement solutions for new features, capabilities, and tools integrations with ServiceNow to address key system requirements defined by the client.
Other responsibilities may include:
JavaScript or similar scripting languages, and the web as a development platform
Modern UI frameworks like Angular or React
Full stack development or developing automated solutions
DevOps implementations
Integrations and REST API automation
Agile development practices (e.g. SAFE, Scrum)
Automated testing using tools such as ServiceNow ATF
Business analysis and design
Server/infrastructure administration

- Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
- Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
- Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position customer competitively in the marketplace with best practices.
- Drive technical solutions to integrate a wide suite of IT system and COTS tools and products with the ServiceNow platform.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports that keep program leadership and the client apprised of technical progress, potential risks with documented mitigations, and issue resolution plans and status.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )
- Experience with multiple ServiceNow product implementations and development
- Experience briefing peer teams and client executives on ServiceNow capabilities, best practices, and recommendations
- Experience in scripting on the ServiceNow platform
- Experience supporting and administration of the ServiceNow platform
- Experience working with, configuring, and enhancing the ServiceNow data model
- Proficiency with various features and functionalities of the ServiceNow platform
- Thought leader for design and implementation of new solutions involving ServiceNow products like TRM, INS-PI, BIA, SAM, CM, CSM, PSDS.
- Experience working in Agile Practices (e.g. SAFE, Scrum)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE ( Required Skills )
These skills will help you succeed in this position:
BS Degree and 12 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- At least 3 ServiceNow certifications, including Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
- At least 2 years of experience building best practices to configure, enhance, and maintain an overall ServiceNow architecture that can support out of the box/minimally configured implementations across multiple ServiceNow modules (including ITSM, ITOM CSM, TRM; Enterprise Asset Management).
- At least 2 years of experience in developing and executing ServiceNow roadmaps as defined and approved by the client(s), while leading a team of ServiceNow Developers.
- At least 5 years of experience in developing solutions across the ServiceNow platform to utilize automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow with a wide suite of IT system and COTS tools
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
- Experience leveraging ins.pi products (YouDesign, UPMX, Designer, or FREELUCY)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications or any Pro Suite certifications
- Experience with AJAX and XML
- Experience working in a PaaS/SaaS environment
- SME across ServiceNow products from design, implementation, testing and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and consult including providing options with pros, cons and risks around key technical decisions during design and implementation
- Strong organizational skills and understanding of the Project Management lifecycle
- Prior Federal government experience.
