Grill Cook - Full Time

GRILL COOK - FULL TIME (santa clara) Birk's Restaurant 3955 Freedom Circle near Mission College.

Birk's Restaurant, an upscale, high volume, fine dining operation is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who will perform duties in a conscientious, pleasant and professional manner.  The primary duties meat portioning, inspecting meat, maintaining wood fire, cook steaks by temperature, and other tasks assigned by the chefs.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess a professional and positive demeanor, good communication skills, and excellent hygiene and grooming for this position. High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum three (3) years of line cook experience in a fast paced, high volume environment.

Required Skills:

• strong culinary depth of knowledge including meat portioning, ingredients and  cooking methods (sauté, braise, fry, stew, broil)
• previous experience with time and temperature to grill steaks.
• stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours in length.
• be able to reach, bend, kneel and frequently lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• also be able to speak clearly and listen attentively.
