Baker / Pastry Cook

The Welsh Tea Shoppe LLC in Clarks Summit, PA is seeking a talented Part-Time Baker/Pastry Cook to join our team. This is a full-time position at 36 hours per week Tuesday–Saturday.  We are looking for a Baker to prepare a wide variety of Welsh and British, cookies, pastries, fudge, and candies.

To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to follow detailed instructions correctly.  (Must be 21 years or over and have reliable transportation.)

Job Expectations:

• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
• Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare baked goods and candies 
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Mix various ingredients to create products(e.g. fudge, toffee, pie dough and cookie dough)
• Follow detailed recipes correctly
• Ensure high food quality standards
• Open the bakery and small store-front in the morning, as needed
• Restock store-front shelves as needed
• Help customers in store-front, as needed

Requirements and skills

• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Cook or similar role
• Able to lift 50 lbs bags of flour
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, dough sheeters, and ovens
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexibility to work Tuesday-Saturday and 8am morning shifts
• Certification from a culinary school is a plus

Salary: $24,960 - $31,200 per year (salary commensurate with experience)
