November 2018 Optometry Industry Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

The number of new optometry jobs added to iHireOptometry declined for the second month in a row and dipped below 8,000 for the first time since the beginning of the summer. However, November still saw 7,563 new opportunities added for optometry job seekers with optometrist and optician continuing to top our list of job titles with the highest volume of new openings.

In addition to less openings coming on the market, it appears that employers in the eye care industry are having a tougher time filling positions. The average job ad age jumped from 30 days in October to 40 days in November, which is the longest it’s been since iHireOptometry began publishing monthly reports on optometry industry data.
