March 2019 Optometry Industry Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

Our eye care industry overview for March 2019 shows minimal change as compared to February 2019, with a slight decrease in total active jobs and small increase in new optometry jobs added. Luxottica Group held its place as the #1 hiring company with 925 jobs. Optometrists, opticians, and optical assistants/optical office staff were the most in-demand optometry professionals as well.

With regards to optometry job seekers, iHireOptometry’s total candidate membership base increased from 79,876 to 80,509. Of note, 258 optometrists and 240 opticians joined our site last month. Additionally, 22% of the optometry job seekers on iHireOptometry are willing to relocate for a job, and their average membership length is 1,421 days (or approximately 3.9 years).
