March 2018 Optometry Industry Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

A lot of hiring happened in March – iHireOptometry added 6,444 new jobs throughout the month (a 55% increase over February’s numbers), but ended March with 5,660 active jobs in our database, which means a lot of positions were filled over that 31-day period. There was also a fair amount of change in the top hiring regions, with North Carolina replacing Pennsylvania in our list of top states for hiring, and Boston supplanting Los Angeles in our list of top metro areas.

On the job seeker side, iHireOptometry now boasts over 90,000 registered users with an average length of membership of more than three years. The most common job titles include medical receptionist/assistant, optician/optical sales, optometric/ophthalmic technician, and optometrist.
