July 2019 Optometry Industry Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

After adding just under 5,000 new optometry jobs in June, iHireOptometry’s new job volume jumped to 6,047 in July. With 1,343 openings, Walmart, Inc. took over the top hiring company spot from Luxottica Group. The average job ad age declined significantly from 44 days in June to 39 days in July, which could signal a greater sense of hiring urgency among employers.

There was also increased activity among optometry job seekers on iHireOptometry in July. The number of unique visitors grew from 22,699 in June to 25,991 this past month. The total number of optometry candidates on iHireOptometry surpassed 75,000. Approximately 37% of our users are active job seekers and 22% are willing to relocate for the right opportunity.
