July 2018 Optometry Industry Report [INFOGRAPHIC]

iHireOptometry added 8,785 new jobs throughout the month of July (an increase of almost 1,200 jobs over June’s numbers). The Los Angeles metropolitan area jumped all the way up to second on our list of the top 5 hiring markets, and there were significant changes in the average job ad length, average job ad age, and the number of employers including culture information in their job posts.

On the job seeker side, there was minimal change from last month. Opticians continue to account for the most candidates per job title followed very closely by optical assistant/office staff. Further down the list are optometrist, optometric technician, and ophthalmic technician.
