This role is for a systems administrator who will acquire, install/configure, operate, and maintain computer hardware, software, and related infrastructure.

Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, hybrid, and is a contract position for 12 months.

Candidates will be asked to come into the office 2 Days / Week

What You'll Do

  • Review security scan results and develop steps to mitigate vulnerabilities at the server and application levels

  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to agency policies, standards, and guidelines

  • Exercise systems administration, engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation

  • Perform daily system monitoring. Verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes

  • Review system and application logs, verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Performs daily backup operations and regular file archival and purge as necessary

  • Create, changes, and deletes user accounts by request. Provides Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues

  • Diagnose and perform recovery from hardware or software failures

  • Coordinates and communicates with impacted constituencies

  • Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrades administrative tools and utilities

  • Configures/adds new services as necessary

  • Maintains operational, configuration, or other procedures. Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

What You'll Need

  • Experience managing Windows and Linux systems

  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software and related infrastructure

  • Expertise in current cloud technologies such as Azure and OCI; ability to assist and lead teams in migrating existing environments to the cloud

  • Experience upgrading, installing and configuring application software and hardware

  • Experience troubleshooting and providing technical support server and networks

  • Problem-solving and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
