What You'll Do:
The Digital, Data, & Operations (DDO) organization at Edward Jones is the execution arm of the Firm, bringing the strategy of the enterprise to life. The DDO First Line Risk capability plays a critical role in executing a risk program that the organization finds to be inspirational. Through strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration, youll continuously identify opportunities for operational efficiency and risk mitigation, supporting the firm and the DDO organization in its key objectives.

Within DDO, the Ops division's ideal future state is digitally enabled operations to foster a frictionless flow of client and branch team transactions, with minimal reliance on manual processes. As a Sr. Risk Manager on the Risk Transformation team within the DDO First Line Risk capability, you will work in partnership with stakeholders, including DDO leadership, SMEs, as well as representatives from platform vendors to ensure delivery of the right risk and control outcomes for the Ops division's transformation. As Ops transforms, you'll work with DDO leadership to ensure the risks associated with the Ops division's future state process activities are appropriately controlled via the execution of firm's Enterprise Risk Management framework for identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, reporting and escalating risks. This is an individual contributor role. Internally, the position title will be Senior Risk & Control Associate.

Here are a few of the Key Responsibilities:
  • Short-Term: Produce a Risk Point of View, in collaboration with the process owner, that identifies key risks for the initial future state process design produced by Process Factory
  • Long-Term: Lead full risk assessments, in collaboration with risk owner(s) and their delegates, for the final future state process design and validate the needed future state process controls were implemented
  • Perform control design consultation for future state process risks to ensure appropriate mitigation of risks via automated preventative controls, to the extent possible
  • Consult with Operations leadership on risk and control considerations as the division develops, evolves, and executes its future workforce strategy

Additional general risk management responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for carrying out risk and control activities utilizing Enterprise Risk Management frameworks as well as any DDO-required elements
  • Supports risk owners in evaluating remediation strategies and control enhancements
  • Executes risk management procedural requirements for open out of appetite risks including root cause analysis, action plan development, evidence, and remediation documentation including supporting and challenging risk owners on action plan effectiveness
  • Use a GRC to document risk assessment data
  • Assists leadership in developing and analyzing results for inclusion in risk reporting
  • Acts as resource to team and assists DDO associates
  • Assists in development of risk training and education to business partners; assists DDO associates in understanding the Enterprise Risk Management Program
  • Stays informed on risk industry and educational/development opportunities
What Experience You'll Need:
  • 3+ years of risk management experience required
  • College degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft product suite as well as other software programs and databases
  • Ability to effectively execute risk engagements utilizing established risk frameworks
What Could Set You Apart:
  • CPA, CIA, FRM, or other risk certification
  • Experience developing risk frameworks
  • FINRA/Industry Licenses
**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
