Overview

Lutron is seeking a talented and motivated Configured Product Systems Engineer to join our Configured Product team at our Global Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA. As a Configured Product Systems Engineer at Lutron, you will contribute to high-stakes projects from the start - you will be at the forefront of high-impact projects, playing a crucial part in maintaining our status as the global leader in smart lighting and shading systems.

Configured Product Systems Engineers at Lutron participate within a cross-functional team to enable to successful realization, use, and retirement of engineered systems products. This includes conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative, high-quality lighting controls or shade products and services for commercial and residential use.

There are a variety of technologies and concepts throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as:

  • Highly configurable products such as motorized window shades, light fixtures, power panels, or customizable keypads
  • Design for business, engineering, and manufacturing requirements and constraints
  • Mass customization manufacturing processes, dynamic work instructions, bills of material and end-of-line verification
  • Product Configuration Rules Engines, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and eCommerce platforms
  • Data and logical flow design, implementation, and validation
  • Version control, software test methodologies, and database technologies
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate & Create : Work closely with our engineers and product managers to understand and implement technical and business requirements.
  • Innovate & Analyze : Dive deep into product domain requirements and identify opportunities to reuse common elements across product lines, driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Design & Implement : Craft logical models for product families, supporting our groundbreaking mass customization business.
  • Set Standards & Inspire : Help establish and uphold high standards and guidelines for rules development, ensuring excellence in every detail.
  • Champion of Quality : Lead by example to promote best practices, clean designs, smart testing, and comprehensive reviews. Your influence will shape our processes and outcomes.
  • Test & Excel : Develop and execute thorough test plans, ensuring our product rules exceed both internal and customer expectations.
  • Mentor & Grow : Share your expertise with junior systems engineers, coaching them to develop reliable, testable, and extensible product rules.
  • Impact : Partner with downstream departments, including Manufacturing and Operations, to ensure seamless integration and success.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Applied Physics, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 required for each degree earned
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a related field required; prior experience with Configure Price Quote (CPQ), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Configurators and the writing of Configurable Product Rules preferred
