Hilbers Inc., an established and nationally recognized General Contractor, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. We are looking for a driven and competitive professional who aligns with our company’s goals and values. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial projects, including retail, restaurants, health clubs, offices, medical and educational facilities, and more.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent construction experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years estimating commercial projects ranging from $100K to $20M.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications.
  • Experience using estimating and takeoff software such as PlanSwift, RedTeam, Pantera, and BuildingConnected.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Word processing programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, organize, and review plans and specifications for upcoming bids.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project details to determine scope, requirements, and costs.
  • Maintain and compile all relevant bid-related documentation for accuracy and reference.
  • Lead and manage the bid process, including scope review and subcontractor coordination.
  • Attend and facilitate pre-bid walkthroughs as needed.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and GMP proposals.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor.
  • Develop and submit comprehensive proposals for review.
  • Collaborate with management to review and refine estimates before submission.
  • Engage in business development activities, presentations, and client meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication during the bid process.
