Helping Friendly Farm

New Hope farm

As stewards who recognize our temporary residency on the land, our approach aims to limit arbitrary novelties and develop designs and employ management strategies that promote the health and resiliency of landscapes for the future. This project at Helping Friendly Farm, a therapeutic farm in New Hope serving disabled youths and their families, involved revegetating and bringing life back to a landscape where it had been absent with the previous homeowner. Red tipple stone which was used ubiquitously throughout the landscape was removed and the pond edge and slopes were planted. Naturalistic gardens were established to create enjoyable outdoor spaces, rain gardens and swales were installed to mitigate stormwater, and meadow patches were seeded throughout the property enabling families to engage and interact with nature as part of their experience during their visit.
