MSR Communities is growing. We are hiring a Site Superintendent that will oversee the construction process and are responsible for overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines. This can include planning and scheduling, organizing, directing, and controlling activities on the residential construction site for developments in the Friso, TX area.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct construction activities on the building site Schedule with all involved subcontractors for each development and construction phase.
  • Completes each home site on schedule from planning through occupancy, ensuring all contract obligations are satisfied.
  • Approves work being performed by subcontractors and handles any related issues.
  • Assist management in payment of subcontractors upon thorough inspection of work.
  • Maintains a safe work site by implementing safety and good housekeeping regulations, enforcing safe work habits, and observing OSHA requirements and state-level agencies' regulations.
  • Manage SWWWP (erosion control) responsibilities: interact with erosion control inspectors; contractor accountability to SWPPP obligations; perform permit required inspections; discharge monitoring; living document updates; learn document retention process; ensure best management practices are maintained and properly installed. CESCL certification or the ability to get it within 2 months.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable building codes. Verify that all checklists are completed, and inspections are scheduled and passed.
  • Recognize and enforce quality standards through daily inspection of homes under construction. Monitor subdivision cleanliness and hold subcontractors responsible for daily clean-up Schedule
  • Manage subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs.
  • Follow up with sub-contractors and homeowners to ensure walkthrough punch list concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Conducts all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
  • Ability to work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Develops and maintains good rapport with subcontractors, homeowners, city officials, and inspectors.
  • Execute company policies and enforces uniformity in construction methods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Suggest improvements within the system.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive among designated communities.
  • Work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to communicate organizational policies and other information to subordinates.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read construction blueprints and store elevation drawings.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five or more years experience working as a site superintendent
  • A valid driver’s license from the state of residence is required
