The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
DescriptionHandles routine aspects of identifying, opening, and processing claims activity for assigned products line and/or business segments. Uses multiple internal systems to research and document new claims and track claim activity as appropriate. Performs other administrative duties needed to support the claims handling activities in assigned region or provides assistance/support to other regions as needed.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates within 50 miles of the following Liberty Mutual offices are required to report in-office twice a week: Plymouth Meeting, PA; Seattle, WA; Suwanee, GA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Plano, TX. Please note this policy is subject to change.
Responsibilities- Receives claims notification, investigates and researches matters to identify claims and send to Manager for assignment if appropriate.
- Upon assignment, obtain claim file instructions (CFI) and open claim/lawsuit in database.
- Close and document claim/lawsuit upon completion per request of Claims Handler/Manager.
- As directed, identify, develop, create, revise and process correspondence, letters and notifications using templates to claims party within established timelines for new and ongoing claims.
- May obtain background information from claimant or obligee and ensure all parties have proper documentation.
- May produce discovery for courts and send to appropriate parties as required.
- Services and responds to internal and external customer needs providing an exceptional customer experience.
- Assists customers with inquiries and answers questions and follows up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Processes claim payments and research/verify OFAC prior to paying claimant/consultant.
- May processes salvage/cash receipts and expense payments. May submit reserve request worksheet under direction of Claims Handler.
- Create and/or maintain reports as appropriate.
- Provide claims, administrative and technical support functions to Surety Claims Handlers and staff.
- Schedules meetings and coordinates events as appropriate.
- Develop a basic understanding of the Surety industry, including claims processing and state/country legal guidelines, lien and bond claim law and claim handling techniques Understand basic claims documents and scenarios (e.g. commercial, fidelity, and/or construction documents as well as major parties of a bonded obligation and common dispute that may arise under the bond).
- Participate in training as appropriate Special projects as assigned.
- Bilingual candidates who can speak Spanish, French, and Hindi are preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred
- 1 year of related administrative work experience in law, construction or other business desired
- Basic knowledge of Surety, including Surety-specific terminology preferred
