About the Role

The Director Healthcare Services Accounting leads the Healthcare Services Division revenue accounting including SelectRx Select Patient Management and Population Health. The Director Healthcare Services Accounting would work directly with Operations as well as Finance organization to analyze and communicate results of the accounting for revenue receivables inventory and related costs. The Director Healthcare Services Revenue Accounting will supervise a Revenue Senior Accountant.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow and oversee work of the Revenue Senior Accountant
  • Ensure reconciliation of monthly revenue reports and prepare (or review if Senior Accountant prepares) monthly journal entries for Healthcare Services division for all entities in Healthcare Services
  • Review and analyze revenue system output before creating entries into general ledger
  • Monitor inventory accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy of the inventory transactions
  • Gather and analyze data to research complex transaction histories to reconcile inventory discrepancies and update general ledger as appropriate
  • Challenge current processes and improve efficiency including working with Internal Audit on control recommendations and execution as well as operations on process improvements
  • Work closely with FP&A on revenue forecasts and variance analysis
  • Participation with annual financial audit including leadership in revenue work
  • Provide recommendations for improvements of revenue receivable inventory and cost accounting policies and procedures and oversee necessary process changes
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or other related fields required
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience required; Public Accounting and/or CPA preferred
  • 5 years of experience leading and developing high performing teams required
  • Prior Healthcare Services and/or Pharmacy Experience desired
  • Revenue Recognition and Inventory experience in a pharmacy or manufacturing
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus

Financial Responsibilities (budget revenue):

  • This position has budget responsibility authority and/or level of control.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed indoors with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to office work. Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
