Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a GI Lab Technician to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic . Common responsibilities include assisting the provider with procedures, setting up equipment, and supplies. High level disinfection of all instruments and equipment.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours per week)

Work Schedule: Monday Friday (4 / 10-hour days)

Qualifications
  • High School or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience required, hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred but not required. Receives on the job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.
  • BLS required.
Responsibilities
  • Adheres to proper procedures of aseptic technique and safety in the use of instruments and equipment.
  • Secures and prepares all supplies and instruments required for diagnostics and therapeutic intervention before procedures.
  • Position and re-position patient during procedures.
  • Helps monitor patients during procedure.
  • Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
  • Ensures that specimens are correctly handled and routed to the proper source.
  • Assist in taking patient vital signs and reporting them to nursing staff
  • Assist in recovery room with ambulating patients, cleaning soiled stretchers, and dressing cleaned stretchers
