Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

This role is essential in supporting the pharmacy operations and ensuring excellent service to our patients.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB
  • Or, Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA
  • Specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practice standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms, and trade/generic names.
  • Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding CompetencyAt least one year of experience in pharmacy or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
Responsibilities
  • Meets and demonstrates competency in all Pharmacy Tech I criteria and:
  • Successfully completes training, maintains competence and primary responsibility in:
    • Preparation of:
    • Sterile medication preparation, and/or
    • Pediatric sterile and non-sterile medications
  • Or, Primary responsibility is controlled substance inventory, distribution and disposal.
  • Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled substances.
  • Performs other functions as required.
