We are seeking a new Litigation Paralegal with 4-6 years' experience to join our team. Your role will be in our Easton, MD office and support multiple lawyers’ handling litigation matters for transportation and other business clients in the Maryland region.
What You Will Do:
As a Paralegal in our Easton, MD Office, the following duties would be expected of you:
- Gathering Medical Records and other Discovery via Subpoena, Authorizations, FOIA Requests, Social media, etc.
- Tracking, Organizing, and preparing Discovery Materials going to counsel, experts, and other witnesses.
- Preparing Medical Chronologies.
- Scheduling IME's.
- Docket Searches.
- Conducting Legal Research using LEXIS NEXIS and other search tools.
- Retaining Experts and Sending documents to Experts for review.
- Assisting Attorneys with Trial Preparation and attendance at Trial.
- Organization and Maintenance of files in our document management system.
- Other General Office/Paralegal Functions as required.
What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- Demonstrate creative thinking, strong research skills, and superior verbal and written communication skills required.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, attention to detail, and strong research skills, with programs such as Lexis Nexis, are required.
- Demonstrated experience in the Defense of Civil Litigation matters from inception to Settlement/Trial.
- Significant experience obtaining medical records, preparing medical chronologies and preparing for trial.
- Demonstrated experience following the legal process in the preparation of Maryland Subpoenas is essential.
- Experience with billing time utilizing legal billing software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proactive work style, taking initiative to anticipate attorney needs.
