In this role you'll manage, coordinate, and implement operations of OER's Duty Room and assist with coordinating the agency's response to releases of oil and toxic pollutants into the environment.
You'll supervise program staff and oversee daily functions such as incident receipts, Complaint Tracker coordination, and dispatching and tracking of all incidents reported to the OER Spill Hotline.
You'll work with the agency's IT department and the state's Department of Administrative Services to oversee administration, operation, and maintenance of OER's software applications to document spill responses, perform spill tracking, and obtain cost recovery.
As SME, you'll serve as a primary contact with Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) and the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), and coordinate with other agency divisions, districts, and programs to facilitate the necessary responses to natural and man-made disasters.
You'll manage the Ohio EPA Radiological Assessment Team (RAT) Program and associated URSB Grant, including monitoring training requirements and Ohio EPA's grant-related obligations. As needed, you'll perform primary ER management duties on a rotating basis.
Here are the key tasks.
Implements the Office of Emergency Response (OER) Duty Room Operations by managing, coordinating, and implementing all Duty Room Operations of OER.
Maintains and updates assigned SOPs to ensure consistency. Assists colleagues and OER Chief in overseeing Agency's coordinated response to releases of oil and toxic pollutants into the environment. Develops interagency MOUs, guidance, and policies on OER issues.
Works with Ohio EPA ITS and Ohio DAS to oversee administration, operation, and maintenance of the MARCS Motorola P1 CAD software application utilized by OER to document spill responses, perform spill tracking, and obtain cost recovery.
Responds to State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to assist in response to natural and man-made disasters; provides oversight and guidance to Agency response staff, and coordinates with Division management in regional offices and program to facilitate the necessary support from SMEs.
Assists On-Call OSCs afterhours with deployment decisions and incident updates, monitoring ER's situational awareness feeds, and elevating high priority incidents to the ER Chief during a once per 3 weeks rotational period.
*This position requires frequently working outside normal working hours. May require overnight out-of-town travel.
