Senior Business Development Manager
A global leader in facility services and solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Manufacturing and Distribution vertical. In this high-impact role, you will develop and execute strategic plans to secure new business and expand existing accounts across Iowa.
Essential Functions
- Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.
- Develop tailored proposals, negotiate contracts, and present business solutions to clients.
- Partner closely with operations and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Lead full-cycle sales processes including pricing, RFP responses, and client presentations.
- Maintain and update CRM (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipeline and customer data.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices.
- Travel frequently throughout Iowa to engage with prospective clients and build market presence.
Qualifications
Experience- 8+ years of business development and sales experience (5+ years acceptable for senior-level candidates with strong experience).
- Proven hunter mentality with a focus on services sales.
- Direct experience in Manufacturing/Distribution Facility Services Sales (eg, janitorial, engineering, parking management, security, fire protection, pest control).
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Excel for pricing and proposal development.
- Track record of managing and collaborating with cross-functional and matrixed teams.
- Expertise in writing and presenting detailed sales proposals.
- Ability to handle multiple sales processes and proposals simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Experience in facility engineering solutions sales.
- Established knowledge of the Iowa market and ABM competitors.
- Previous experience pricing labor within proposals.
- Immediate sales contacts within the territory (eg, JLL, CBRE, CW, or other property management firms).
- Familiarity with ABM-branded marketing materials.
- Book of business in the manufacturing and distribution industries is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required with significant related experience.
