Job Title: Lead Platform Administrator (Databricks / Snowflake)

Location: Remote (EST Hours)

Experience Level: Lead-Level (8+ Years)

Employment Type: Contract

Job Description: We are seeking a Lead Platform Administrator with extensive experience in Databricks and/or Snowflake to work in a highly elevated environment. The ideal candidate will have strong DevOps expertise, particularly with Terraform, and will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, availability, and performance. This is a critical role, as the client has experienced an abrupt departure and is seeking immediate support.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage Databricks and/or Snowflake platforms in a production environment.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot incidents in a production on-call setting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and maintain platform reliability.

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform for automated deployments.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures and troubleshooting.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical platform issues.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in platform administration or DevOps roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.

  • Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure management.

  • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Proven experience in a production support and on-call environment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience leading technical teams or serving in a senior-level capacity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications in Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud platforms.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance management.
