Job Description
Our client, a leader in the engineering industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Leader to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineering Leader, you will be part of the engineering department supporting innovative product development. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and demonstrated leadership skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Leader
Location: San Jose, CA (100% onsite)
What's the Job?
- Design and deliver next-generation chassis and cards that meet system product requirements.
- Perform detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies using spreadsheet and/or 3D tolerance analysis tools.
- Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast that meet EMI, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Create detailed drawings by applying Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T) principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate requirements and evaluate technical risks and tradeoffs.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and 8-12 years of EMS design experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the design of compute/network products.
- Expertise in the use of 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor junior engineers.
