Position Summary: 

The learning and development specialist creates, plans, and runs training programs for individuals and teams within BRC. Assess the needs of the organization, develop custom training programs, and evaluate their effectiveness.  The training could take place online, in classrooms, or in training facilities.

 

Essential Functions:

• Evaluate and identify key training needs and the most efficient and effective ways to deliver against those needs to support the goals and objectives of the company.

• Design a new training curriculum for business services professionals. Propose and lead new training initiatives (e.g. new manager development series, orientation series for business services professionals, behavior competency training).

• Evaluate, implement and administer personality assessment tools to optimize the workforce.

• Develop and deliver program content as appropriate. 

• Monitor and evaluate success of training programs implemented.

• Working with members of the team, refine and enhance training effectiveness to ensure continued relevancy of the competency framework and provision of clear and constructive feedback.

• Work closely with directors and managers to support ongoing development of support staff and suggest or develop customized training solutions and process improvements as needed.

• Partner with directors, managers and trainers to develop best practices and training strategies based upon assessment of employee development needs.

• Design and maintain a portal page (within SharePoint) to showcase the learning and development offering and resources for business services professionals.

• Seek and evaluate the services of external consultants and facilitators leveraging innovative technologies and eLearning tools when needed.

• Working with leadership, assess current practices for new hire onboarding, staff orientation and off boarding and refine these programs to align with evolving firm needs and industry best practices.

• Manage the Training/Mentoring Program for the organization. Design materials to support mentors and mentees. Check-in regularly to make sure that all training goals are met.

• Manage the Learning Management System related to learning and development courses.

• Manage the company business compliance programs, including harassment awareness, ethics, respect and workplace conduct.

• Support professional learning and development programs as needed and other special projects. 

• Ensures compliance with corporate training, policies, procedures, and standards of behavior.

 

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, organizational leadership, education or related field.

• 5+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in education, training, organizational development and/or human resources.

• Highly developed presentation, writing and facilitation skills critical; instructional design experience required.

• Experience with implementing and delivering a varied set of approaches to training within an organization.

• Strong experience with and an understanding of performance management/measurement metrics, approaches and processes.

• Experience in designing and communicating processes and using technology to execute.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Prior professional services experience highly preferred.

• Knowledge of the Predictive Index 

Certifications/Licenses: 

APTD, CPTD, or CPTM preferred.

Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); other design and presentation applications helpful.

Physical Demands:

Physical demands include being regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate equipment and tools. May be occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and to distinguish colors.  While performing duties the employee may be subjected to the risk of electrical shock, potentially hazardous gases and loud noise. Safety equipment and training will be provided.
