Craftsman/Technician

SUMMARY: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates sound judgment and emotional stability.
• Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
• Ensures the safety of students.
• Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
• Repairs/maintains all types of heating ventilating and air conditioning equipment (HVAC).
• Repairs, replaces, maintains, monitors and calibrates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperatures.
• Installs/tests new equipment.
• Accurately orders/accounts for material/labor in relation to assignments.
• Repairs/maintains kitchens and associated equipment.
• Maintains all safety and code requirements of state/local and Board of Education guidelines.
• Knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, including combi-ovens and dishwashers.
• Understanding of gas fired equipment.
• Basic electrical experience. Able to read wiring diagrams.
• May be required to be on 24-hour call.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
