Solutions Engineer

What You'll Do:
At Edward Jones we are developing a next-generation data architecture to support our growing business. In a Solutions Engineer role, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining Advanced Analytic and AI solutions in support of analytics users across the firm. This will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders from each division. In doing so, you will be placing powerful analytic tools in the hands of those responsible for answering the firms most critical questions.

Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of:

• Work closely with project teams to deploy new solutions for proof-of-concept efforts.
• Independently design, assemble, configure, install, maintain, and tune complex infrastructure components.
• Develop integrated system designs and specifications.
• Develop, package, test, document and implement quality infrastructure and applications on a variety of platforms (Linux, Windows, etc.)
• Deploy, configure, support, and maintain cloud infrastructure and application components (IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS)
• Collaborate and work closely across multiple teams to design and implement complex enterprise application environments.
• Debug and correct complex internal and external infrastructure and application problems.
• Document step-by-step procedures and system configuration for use in ongoing support and future efforts that require modifications or upgrades to the infrastructure.

What Experience You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience with OpenAI Proxy and OpenAI Services .
• 3+ years of experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service).
• 10+ years of experience in a variety of technical fields including software and infrastructure engineering, including:
  • A deep understanding of operating critical & enterprise hardened production systems. A deep understanding of Observability to reduce toil and improve MTTR during incidents.
  • Fluent in multiple programming languages and development stacks. Knowledgeable of multiple systems to design more resilient and maintainable solutions. Strong expertise in Java and Python required.
  • Mastery over various strategies of how to test complex and distributed systems through automation.
  • A highly effective mentor: having a positive, solution-oriented attitude, along with great communication skills are required. This role will model the values of being lifelong learner by continuing to learn new things and share those with your team. SEs will help develop other mentors by teaching experienced engineers how to pass on their skills more effectively.
  • Expert in design patterns, Domain Driven Design and scalable Microservices.
  • Experienced in designing and building highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).

***This position has a mandatory 24x7 on-call schedule (1 week per 4-weeks rotation)****

***Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.***
