Summary

Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer who will implement projects and other quality related activities for our Euclid and Mentor Consumable Division Quality Assurance. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a key role in identifying quality problems or potential quality problems, perform effective Problem Definition and Root Cause Analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Initiate corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and verify the effectiveness of those actions. Drive CAPAs to effective closure in a timely manner.
  • Address customer warranty issues and effectively complete customer specific corrective action requests.
  • Create and sustain standard printouts for TVM Boards. Provide additional support as the QA Representative.
  • Provide support for new products, new equipment installs or process improvements:
  • Provide permission note support to R&D and provide data as required for the development of new products.
  • Work with Methods Engineering on process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive or participate in effective FMEAs, establish proper control plans and audit frequencies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in analytical and testing equipment to maximize the effectiveness of existing equipment while investigating and pursuing advances in technology for continuous improvement.
  • Reduce process variation using CI, Six Sigma, and other tools to improve the quality of products and reduce scrap.
  • Manage the Quality Near Miss system. Evaluate the submitted Quality Near Misses and evaluate if additional action is needed for continuous improvement.
  • Development and implementation of in-line monitoring systems/solutions for quality check-points.
  • Utilize MES data to develop process control charts, process capability studies, etc. for new/existing processes. Develop new & update existing work instructions, specifications & procedures.
  • Monitor the process audit program. Analyze outcome to determine if a CAPA or CI project is required.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Companys 2025 Strategy.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required.
  • Qualified candidates will have 1 - 5+ years experience minimum depending on level.
  • Experience in manufacturing required with a solid technical background.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment when evaluating quality related situations.
  • Must work well with those in inspection, R&D, production, and supervision.
  • Knowledge of Consumable Division products, processes, specifications and procedures is preferred.
  • Willing to undergo the necessary training to obtain QA Engineer certification.
  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites as necessary to solve quality related issues.
  • Completion of Six Sigma training and a Red Belt or Black Belt project or willing to undergo the necessary training. Six Sigma preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills particularly in technical areas.
  • Proficient in Apriso and SAP.
