Position: Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT) or Experienced Cardiology Veterinary Technician to join our specialty team at PVESC. As an integral part of the PVESC family, you will work closely with our specialty department members to provide excellent patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medical treatments, including PO, IM, SC, and IV medications
  • Perform and capture high-quality diagnostic radiographs
  • Collect and analyze samples for bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Accurately calculate medication volumes and administration rates
  • Prepare and administer medications with awareness of potential reactions
  • Utilize ECG and echocardiogram equipment
  • Monitor patients pre-anesthetic, during anesthesia, and post-anesthetic
  • Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthetic machines
  • Understand anesthetic risks and procedural complications
  • Perform intubation and anesthesia maintenance at all levels of anesthetic risk
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled drugs usage and disposal
  • Triaging client communications and concerns
Requirements
  • Licensed LVT/CVT or Experienced Cardiology Veterinary Technician
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient advocacy
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Compassion and respect for pets and their families
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team
