Position: Assistant Director of Nursing
Location: Richmond City Justice Center
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Responsibilities:
Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluations of all nursing services
Work alongside the Director of Nursing to review, establish, and maintain patient care protocol and standards, ensuring that all federal and state, MEDIKO, and facility policies, regulations and guidelines for patient care are met
Establish and coordinate training, quality improvement, safety and infection control programs in collaboration with all required entities including but not limited to Director of Nursing, Health Services Administrator, facility administration, Human Resources, Corporate QA Manager and team as well as any other appropriate MEDIKO employees
Recommend and participate in the development of organizational policies and procedures to include monitoring and enforcement of Infection Control policies and procedures; serve on organizational committees such as the CQI and assist in conducting regular staff meetings
Monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness and implement changes as required for improvement
Assist in designing, establishing, and maintaining an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives; assist in recruiting, employing, training, supervising, and evaluating professional and contract staff
Support Director of Nursing in directing and coordinating nursing, program, and clinical education and in-service activities for the department
Review pharmacy utilization to ensure adherence to formulary
Reinforce Director of Nursing in establishment and implementation of short- and long-term organization goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures
Assist Director of Nursing in performing periodic cost and productivity analysis
Operate standard office equipment to include computer, copier, fax, and telephone; operate standard medical facility equipment to include, but not limited to, AED, EKG, blood pressure, oxygen, glucometer, pulse oximeter, and other medical equipment, as applicable
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BSN with Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Current state RN licensure
Background in emergency room or correctional nursing setting preferred
Three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferable in a correctional care setting
Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
