Position Overview: We are currently seeking a determined and dynamic Tax Accountant who embodies our core values: Service, Accountability, Customer Focus, Growth, and Integrity. In this role, the Tax Accountant will effectively assist the Tax Manager with the Sales Tax and Business Licensing process. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze sales and use tax returns
  • Timely filing of sales and use tax returns in all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico
  • Ensuring current tax rates are applied
  • Maintaining tax records for monthly, quarterly and annual filings
  • Maintaining a complete record of exempt/resale certificates
  • Customer sales tax credit reviews
  • Reviewing payment history of current customers
  • Review non-taxed invoices to ensure proper use tax accrual
  • Assist with sales and use tax audits as needed
  • Assist with other corporate and/or franchise tax filings as needed
  • Prepare and file business licensing filings for multiple jurisdictions, including states, municipalities, cities, etc.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of basic principles of sales and use tax
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of G/L accounts and how they are impacted by the Sales tax process
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Detail-oriented problem-solver
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven capabilities with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Vertex experience a plus
