Finish Carpenter

POSITION SUMMARY

The Carpenter is mainly responsible for constructing octagon shipping reels and racks to be used to store and ship webbing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follows blueprints, drawings, diagrams, sketches, or verbal instructions to match specifications to customer orders.

• Cuts, glues, nails, drills, and measures wood in order to construct/assembly octagon reels used for shipping webbing.

• Takes measurements and calculates the size and amount of material needed for the construction of the reels.

• Inspects the reels to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Performs maintenance work around the facility to include replacing damaged ceiling and floor tile, wall coverings, roofing, etc.

• Works with carpentry hand and power tools such as saws, measuring tapes, levels, squares, hammers, and rulers.

• Performs basic maintenance of power tools including sharpening and repairing broken tools when needed.  

• Conducts inventory of bolts and nails and notifies the supervisor when supplies are running low.

• Notifies appropriate personnel when problems arise.

• Repairs damaged and / or broken racks for looms.

• Duties and responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. 

• Follows all safety guidelines.

• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
