Quality Assurance (QA) Representative

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Representative to meticulously document and report on debris removal operations. This role involves detailed data collection, note-taking, and photographic documentation to ensure compliance with Government Scopes of Work, Safety Requirements (EM 385-1-1), and industry best management practices.

The Quality Control Representative is responsible for observing and reporting on work progress but will not direct contractors or crews during operations. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager.

Work Location

The primary work areas include Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena, and other locations throughout Los Angeles County. The job may involve work in environments such as damaged or destroyed structures, landfills, and disposal sites.

Work Schedule

  • Availability 7 days a week
  • Shifts up to 10-12 hours per day
  • Expected weekly hours: 60 – 80

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend project orientation to understand the scope of work and quality assurance protocols.
  • Implement policies and procedures to prevent activities outside of project boundaries.
  • Participate in a shadowing program to gain hands-on experience in quality assurance responsibilities.
  • Monitor and document all debris removal operations, including:
    • Collection, staging, and transportation to disposal sites
    • Reduction of vegetative debris and final disposal logistics
  • Document the condition of properties, roads, and public/private land before and after work completion.
  • Collaborate with government officials, project managers, safety officers, equipment operators, and debris monitors.
  • Utilize project-provided electronic devices for data entry and photographic documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate timecard submissions for government invoicing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Required: 2+ years in construction inspection, quality assurance, or a related field with knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety protocols.
    • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in disaster recovery and/or wildfire debris removal.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using smartphones and tablets for documentation.
    • High attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Empathetic, professional demeanor when interacting with property owners and the public.
    • Safety-conscious, punctual, and dependable.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
    • Personal cell phone required.
    • Must be able to travel to multiple work locations.
    • Must pass drug screening and background check.
    • Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and move continuously throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions for documentation.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and debris removal sites for extended periods.

    • 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts
    • Day shifts
    • Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed
