Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will handle rent processing, deposit reconciliation, bill payments, and provide excellent customer service to tenants and vendors. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a small business setting and enjoys wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
Rent Processing: Collect and process tenant rent payments, ensuring timely and accurate recording in the company’s accounting system.
Deposit Reconciliation: Reconcile bank deposits with rent payments and other income sources, maintaining accurate financial records.
Bill Payments: Manage accounts payable, including paying vendors, utilities, and other bills on time while maintaining proper documentation.
Customer Service: Respond to tenant inquiries regarding payments, billing issues, or account statuses with professionalism and courtesy.
Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain up-to-date and accurate ledgers, prepare financial reports, and assist with budgeting as needed.
Collaboration:Work closely with the property management team to support operational needs and ensure financial transparency.
Other Duties: Assist with additional administrative or financial tasks as required in a small business environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role (property management experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PropertyWare, Yardi, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Exceptional communication skills for providing top-notch customer service to tenants and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
