Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Specialist to join the Practice Integration Team at a growing, technology-focused Dental Services Organization (DSO) experiencing exciting direct-to-consumer, de novo, and acquisition growth. This role will focus on the initial onboarding, engagement, assessment, training, and support of staff at newly acquired clinics as they transition into the Sage Dental family.
The ideal candidate must be highly organized, possess exceptional interpersonal skills, and be comfortable leading individual and group training sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for a dental assistant looking to transition from a chairside role into a training and traveling support position. Key responsibilities will include training team members on our Practice Management System (PMS), clinical initiatives, technology, treatment planning, compliance, and Sage Dentals specific processes.
This position requires up to 90% travel time. Travel is non-negotiable and the selected individual must reside in Florida, Georgia or Tennessee. If you meet most of the listed criteria and you're excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we'd love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the setup, and operational launch of new clinics, upon assignment.
- Conduct the initial assessment of newly acquired clinics to understand their current workflows, identify gaps, and develop a tailored training plan to ensure a smooth PMS conversion.
- Provide on-the-job training, shadowing, and mentorship to ensure clinical teams are familiar with Sage Dental workflows and operations procedures.
- Training topics will include, but are not limited to existing PMS, treatment planning, workflows, clinical initiatives & technology, latest regulatory requirements, safety standards, and ethical practices.
- Perform both pre- and post-compliance audits.
- Collaborate closely with other Practice Integration Specialists and relevant stakeholders to understand practice goals and develop appropriate training to meet those objectives.
- Provide onsite and remote clinic support throughout assignment, pre & post-close or launch of a new clinic, practice stabilization, and hand-off to DMO.
- Communicate proactively and effectively regarding any challenges or obstacles that may impact a training schedule or overall successful transition.
- Manage checklists and multiple projects with attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
- Continuously assess and update training materials to reflect the latest industry standards and best practices.
- Serve as a resource, representative, and mentor to assist with the understanding of new policies and operational processes.
- Interact and communicate with a varied spectrum of individuals and maintain a positive and professional demeanor in challenging situations.
- Undertake additional projects and initiatives as needed to promote the needs of the organization to support business growth and development.
- Travel to assigned locations, with overnight stays as required
Qualifications
- Certifications for the position:

- Dental Assistant Certification - required
- Radiology Certification - required
- EFDA Certification preferred

- If an internal candidate, 6+ months of experience at Sage Dental is required.
- Preference: 3+ years of dental assistance experience
- Proficiency in practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, etc)
- In-depth understanding of dental procedures, treatment planning, patient care workflows, and compliance regulations.
- Knowledge of front office operations and/or willing to learn and train on it.
- Ability to work independently, proactively anticipate, problem-solve, and adapt appropriately to challenges.
- Be an advocate for new clinical tools and resources, passionate about technological advancements and their implementation.
- Ability to lead training sessions, both individually and in groups, in a clear, engaging, and professional manner.
- Ability to travel to assigned locations, with overnight stays and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clinical staff, foster collaboration, and maintain a positive, supportive attitude.
- Great understanding of change management.
