Transition to Nursing Practice Program for New Graduate RNs
The Transition to Nursing Practice (TNP) Program at Boston Childrens Hospital is nationally accredited by the ANCC PTAP (American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program) as a nurse residency program designed for newly licensed RNs.
The program is 12 months in length and is focused on the transition from student to professional nurse. The program runs five times per year with start dates in March, May, August, September, and November. Newly licensed nurses are hired directly into a practice-setting by a hiring manager.
The TNP Program combines classroom education and support along with precepted shifts to launch a newly licensed nurses career and successfully guide them down a path that will help them grow and develop into an independent, competent pediatric nurse.

The New Graduate Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Providing care for inpatient pediatric patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
- Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides expert pediatric care.
- A Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Must be graduated with a BSN by December 2024.
- Must have a MA RN license by late April 2025.
