Childcare Prep Cook

The Nest in Branford, Connecticut is seeking a full-time prep cook (30-40 hours per week) for its progressive food program. We serve children (infants through kindergarten) mostly organic, local and whole food daily, Monday through Friday. *This is a temporary position from March 2025-July 2025 for a maternity leave coverage. There is an opportunity for a permanent position at one of our locations: Hamden, Branford, or Fairfield. What you will do:

• work alongside our Chef
• daily prep of snacks and lunches for 3 schools
• communicate clearly, professionally and effectively
• promote and contribute to a positive team environment

What you need:

• at least 2 years of prior kitchen experience
• energetic demeanor, team player
• strong work ethic and integrity
• strong knife skills
• basic baking experience
• Serve safe certification a plus
