Weyerhaeuser’s Wood Products Supply Chain organization is seeking a motivated and proven supply chain leader to join our team as a Logistics Director in Seattle, WA. This valued and strategic role contributes to our supply chain success by collaborating daily across our Supply Chain and leading our Logistics team. The role is responsible for supporting all Weyerhaeuser Wood Products operations, with primary responsibility for locations in the Western US and Canada. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain, the Logistics Director will build and maintain strong relationships with transportation suppliers, lead proactive communication, rate negotiation, and contract management. Additionally, this role involves developing and executing strategic and tactical initiatives in collaboration with sales, operations, and logistics teams to meet business objectives.

This is a hybrid work schedule. Virtual Monday and Friday and in office Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Oversee the logistics team, including hiring, supervising, and developing team members.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide meaningful, actionable feedback.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement through innovation, and psychological safety.
Transportation Strategy:
- Develop and manage carrier strategy and partnerships
- Responsible for contract and pricing negotiations
- Conduct cost analysis and provide cost information to sales and finance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve logistics issues with a customer centric approach.
Communication and Influence:
- Share and synthesize information with team members and appropriate stakeholders.
- Tailor communication style and content to different audiences.
- Leverage networks to share information, influence decisions and guide outcomes.
Value Orientation:
- Deliver and promote unique value within the logistics function.
- Help achieve business objectives and develop strategies.
- Align departmental goals with organizational priorities

Transportation Market:
- Responsible for ensuring transportation market dynamics are understood by key stakeholders.

- 8 +years of transportation and logistics experience
- Transportation industry knowledge by mode, including safety requirements, laws, and regulations
- Ability to analyze market trends and integrate actioning insights into strategy
- Experience with large enterprise resource planning system
- Experience with rate and contract negotiations
- Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive successful implementation in logistics environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions, customer needs, or supply chain disruptions
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement business strategies
- Collaborative and inclusive leadership style, includes experience in hiring, training, and mentoring teams
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Desired Skills / Qualifications
- Proficiency with SAP
- Six Sigma or LEAN certification
What We Offer:
Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $129,145-$193,858 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement : Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation : We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
