As a Lab Technician you will prepare, conduct and maintain required records, on spectrographic, physical, hardness and chemical testing on castings and processes consistent with established and accepted standards.

What will you do?
  • Preform chemical analysis or metals using Optical Emission Spectrometers
  • Preform standardization checks of equipment using reference material that are traceable to NIST
  • Calibrate, maintain, set up and operate testing equipment including spectrograph, tensile tester, hardness tester and chemical test equipment consistent with company standards
  • Perform chemical analysis on incoming metal, in-process pot checks and final pot checks at time of pouring that are consistent with stablished procedures and report results to the Pour-off Department
  • Coordinate round-robin testing to confirm internal calibration and perform analysis of results for corrective action using statistical methods
  • Support FPI, etch, and heat treat operations by performing both physical and chemical analysis of the department
  • Review all completed test work for conformance with established procedures and specifications, performing retest as may be required
  • Reviews all incoming certification on primary raw materials, for the Melt Department and weld rod, for the Weld Department, to materials and company specifications

What do you need to be successful?
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of lab experience
