Were currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Construction Manager located in Portland, OR .

Required Education:

  • High School

Required Certifications/Licenses:

  • Valid Oregon or Washington Drivers License

Required Qualifications:

In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.

  • Minimum of 7 to 9 years of experience working in civil construction environments with significant experience in cost control, unit price experience, estimating, schedule engineering, and contract administration of complex construction contracts.
  • In depth knowledge of general construction management principles, industry practice standards, codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of laws and policies related to managing personnel.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Costs estimating, critical path method scheduling, cost engineering, and good computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Construction Contract Management for assigned construction projects.
  • Administration of engineering construction contracts.
  • Serves as primary contact between the Port and construction contractor.
  • Negotiates change orders, claims, disputes, and disagreements.
  • Review project schedules and work practices, manager contract submittal, RFI process, and quality assurance program to ensure contract compliance.
  • Responsible for all written correspondence between Port and construction contractor, conducts weekly project meetings and coordinates construction requirements with project managers and engineers, and Port operating departments and local agencies.
  • Prepares monthly construction status reports for assigned projects to Project Managers and engineering senior management.
  • Provide Design Support
  • Support engineering project manager and engineers during design
  • Reviews contract plans, drawings, and specifications and provides constructability analysis, design conflicts, and contract compliance guidance
  • Coordinates staging and access requirements and assists with construction phasing planning.
  • Project Controls Management.
  • Management of construction contract cost control systems.
  • Supervision to administrative staff performance project controls functions.
  • Construction Staff Supervision.
  • Supervises and directs work for assigned construction management teams that includes office staff, inspectors, tenant operation coordinators, interns, survey, contract staff, and testing agencies.

  • Must also demonstrate good communication, creative problem-solving, and team-building and negotiation skills

Salary:

  • $65.00 - $70.00/hr

Bonus Pay:

A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
