Crown Cork & Seal's North American Beverage Packaging Division has openings for Forklift Operators at our manufacturing facility located in Worland, WY. This facility manufactures aluminum cans for the beverage industry.

Forklift Operator duties and responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Shipping Lead and/or Shift Supervisor, the Forklift Operator's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
Operates sit-down propane forklift to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management, leads, and coworkers accordingly
Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality
Monitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to Supervisor
Follows all SOP's (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling
Performs other related duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years working forklift experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
  • Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position may also require climbing or balancing.
  • Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.
  • Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
  • Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.

Preferred Requirements

  • OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified
  • Beverage Packaging industry experience
  • Knowledge of AS400

Competencies

  • Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
  • Ability to work independently or with a team.
  • With consensus be able to look at new solutions and think outside the box .
  • Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.
  • Demonstrated good relations skills and the ability to motivate or team with people.
  • Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
