Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Estimator/Manager specialized in quantity takeoff to serve as Project manager with civil engineering, scheduling, and estimating experience, and a member of our Project Team for a construction project in the Baltimore area. The project field office will be located in Hanover, MD. The successful candidate will support our current Estimating Team in preparing and negotiating a Lump Sum estimate for the Project.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret Contract Documents (RFP, specifications, etc.).
  • Perform all tasks related to quantity takeoff and pricing of design-build projects in the infrastructure market.
  • Coordinate with estimators and engineers/designers to provide constructability input and value engineering for preliminary project plans.
  • Participate in Task Force Meetings, brainstorms, and working sessions with estimators and engineers/designers.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate Risk throughout the estimating process.
  • Performing site visits and investigations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred.
  • Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • 5+ yrs of construction/engineering experience, specifically with heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, costs and techniques.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements.
  • Experience with CADD and 3D Modeling software preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Possess strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Must be willing to travel as the job requires.
