Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a Systems Administrator Linux to support an enterprise IT program. In this role you will serve as the sole Systems Administrator for a team of 16 personnel. The team is working to replace an end of life solution with a new solution using new and innovative technology. This exciting work is being done in fast paced environment and in need of a candidate who is able to jump in and make contributions on day one.

Our client designs, develops, tests, integrates and deploys solutions for critical requirements. The current solution is at the end of life stage, therefore new solutions need to be developed and incorporated; new and innovative technologies utilized to successfully meet the user requirements. The clients goal is to design and deliver an enterprise-level system with a modular, segmented architecture which can support both large scale and small scale solutions in order to meet the requirements across a broad range of applicable use cases. In order to support the technical requirements, the Sponsor requires Information Technology (IT) activities to achieve the goal of designing, developing, testing, integrating and deploying the solutions.
In this role you will :
- Create, test, and maintain test, development and production environments,
- Implement established technical and workflow procedures, troubleshoot network and application issues, and provide guidance and technical assistance as needed,
- Update technical configuration documents, manage the system lifecycle, support technical review boards as needed, and participate in technical design reviews as needed,
- Prepare and deliver required documentation to include both program and user level documentation, interact with members of the technical team leads to understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications, and be able to use experience to recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development, communicate and share expertise within and across the clients organizational boundaries,
- Work both independently and in small groups.
Required Security Clearance:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- Bachelors degree and 12+ years of experience or Masters degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Demonstrated experience with Linux and PowerShell administration
- Demonstrated experience creating, testing and maintaining test, development and production environments using Linux and AWS technologies
Desired Experience, Skills, and Education:
- General knowledge of the Linux command line (Changing directories, making files, setting permissions on files)
- Creating/Editing configuration files for services tailored to our solution
- Beginner to Intermediate scripting/automation concepts (configuration management and server herding)
- Ansible or similar orchestration tools
- Understand security standards and best practices for Linux OS
- Maintaining and patching on-prem infrastructure
- Understand and create software repositories
- Understand anti-virus software and management
- Basic domain services such as NTP, DNS, DHCP
- Understand fundamental networking, ports, protocols, etc.
- Standing up and maintaining web servers
- Understand basic server and networking hardware
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar
- Comfortable supporting an engineering team building solutions from the ground up with little oversight
- Demonstrated experience creating, testing, and maintaining test, development and production environments
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting network and application issues
- Demonstrated experience preparing and deliver required documentation to include both program and user level documentation

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
