Job Description


We are looking to hire a dedicated and skilled personal chef to prepare meals according to the preferences and dietary needs of a private family in Naples, FL. This is a full time position. Experience working in a private home preferred.

Ultimately, a top-notch personal chef should be able to handle criticism from clients as well as demonstrate exceptional communication, time management, and customer service skills at all times.

Private Chef Duties include but aren't limited to:

 1. Familiarize with products in household:  Food, Beverages, cleaning, paper and plastic products, etc.

 

 2. Organize pantry, refrigerator, freezer, tea/coffee area, alcohol, wine and beer storage areas. 

  • Check expiration dates      
  • Specific designated area for all products Example: Prepared foods for children, cleaned Lettuces, raw foods, foods for next day etc.
  • Establish par stock for perishables (based on time at locations) Example: transfer products if applicable on short stays or purchase smaller quantities.
  • Maintain par stock for non-perishables (cleaning, trash bags, foils and paper products) 
  • Kitchen fruit bowl (washed and stickers removed) 

 

    3. Purchasing 

  • Purchase all food items and kitchen tools.
  • Organic and gluten free foods only. 
  • Examine if Wholesale club membership is required.
  • Wine, liquor, and beer when needed. 
  • Establish methods for reporting of receipts and payment methods.
  • Return recyclable bags as needed.

 

 4. Menus 

  • Daily menus to be established a few days ahead. 
  • Possibly prepare different entrees for principles and/or guests.  Example- Mr. requires steak, Mrs/seafood. 
  • Prepare Breakfast & Lunch foods daily for Mr. (using special containers for transport) to be left night before, when he is working. 
  • Prepare, store and leave directions for meals when not working.
  • Establish recipe book for household and daily menu history for reference

        

5. Cleanliness

  • Kitchen presentable at all times 
  • End of shift cleanup:
  1. All surfaces, including drawers and countertop, stove and grates, microwave, scrub sink and dry, floor swept in kitchen and under table.
  2. Dishwasher turned on.
  3. Everything returned in proper location.
  4. Empty garbage and recycling (clean receptacles as needed) 
  5. Hang towels in laundry
  6. Replace water jug in kitchen dispenser as needed
  7. Full stock of water 
  8. Monthly cleaning of ovens

 

6. Miscellaneous

  • Travel to properties as required.
  • Suggest and implement new ideas for smooth transition between properties.
