Overview: 
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician ensures operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant. Responsible for  

Responsibilities 

• Operates and maintains the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with DEP. 

• Conducts preventative maintenance program for both plants. 

• Orders and stocks all chemicals used in the operation process  

• Troubleshoot and repair specialized equipment for utility operation such as compressors, pumps, air blowers, chlorinators etc. 

• Cleans bar screens, grit chamber, settling and sludge beds as necessary. 

•  Collects samples and performs tests including but not limited to dissolved oxygen total solids, suspended solids, settle able solids biological oxygen demands and acid or alkaline tests 

• Prepares reports as required on plant operations from the results of daily tests. 

•  Maintains and operates logs and related records   

Qualifications 

• Minimum three years of wastewater treatment plant FIELD 

• License: Wastewater Treatment Plant Class C or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License  

• Experience with CMMS and computer proficiency preferred. 

• Valid driver's license required.
