We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations, ensure compliance, and drive financial efficiency.
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, job costing, and compliance. This role requires strong knowledge of construction accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze weekly cash flow forecasts
- Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Job Costing & Budgeting
- Track job costs, monitor project budgets, and ensure accuracy in cost allocations.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Oversee payroll processing, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reports (if applicable).
- Ensure proper classification of employees and subcontractors (W-2 vs. 1099).
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Supervise accounts payable, ensuring timely processing.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and construction industry accounting standards.
- Prepare and coordinate payroll taxes and any other applicable corporate taxes
- Assist external auditors and tax preparers with required documentation.
- Process Improvement & Systems Management
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Maintain and optimize accounting which is Viewpoint Spectrum
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction job costing.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software ( Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Experience managing AP, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with project managers and executives.
