Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Solutions Architect specializing in autonomous systems integration who aligns with our Leadership Principles and possesses a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with customers, AWS Sales, and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient autonomous system architectures that address complex customer challenges, particularly in tactical edge environments. You will design solutions that overcome denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) connectivity scenarios while enabling seamless integration between edge operations and cloud infrastructure. You will develop infrastructure as code solutions and build automation pipelines to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments of autonomous systems at scale. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers implementing autonomous systems, from individual platforms to complex swarms. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based autonomous solutions, edge inference capabilities, and cloud retraining architectures. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute strategies for autonomous systems integration at scale.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
Design and architect scalable autonomous systems solutions that function effectively in DDIL environments
Develop infrastructure as code templates and automation pipelines for consistent system deployment
Create CI/CD workflows for autonomous system software and configuration management
Develop edge-to-cloud architectures that enable efficient local inference and cloud-based model retraining
Create reference architectures for autonomous system swarms, including communication protocols and control systems
Formulate and execute sales strategies to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS autonomous solutions
Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS for autonomous systems, particularly in edge computing scenarios
Conduct deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in challenging environments
Author technical content and best practices for autonomous systems deployment
Build deep relationships with technical leaders to enable them to be autonomous systems advocates
Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
Some travel ( BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 12+ years of experience in technology, with at least 5 years focused on autonomous systems within the defense domain
- Strong background in edge computing and DDIL environment solutions
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
- Experience with autonomous system control architectures and swarming algorithms
- Expertise in edge-to-cloud integration patterns and distributed systems
- Demonstrated success in technical architecture and customer engagement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Masters degree in Robotics, AI, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with AWS services (especially Cloud networking, IoT Core, Greengrass, and SageMaker)
- Background in implementing autonomous solutions in tactical edge environments
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and edge deployment patterns
- Experience with simulation environments and digital twins
- Understanding of communication protocols and mesh networking
- Experience with multi-agent systems and swarm
