Job Description
BrickFire Pizza is a chef inspired quality fast casual restaurant specializing in pizza, pasta with homemade sauces, and a wide variety of salads and sandwiches with homemade dressings. We are experiencing rapid growth and are looking for an individual able to grow with the business and manage the restaurant with the owner. You should have at least 5 years of experience in a busy kitchen, 3 of which in a management capacity. PROFICIENCY IN PIZZA MAKING BY STRETCHING DOUGH IS ESSENTIAL. Some culinary school is a plus.
You will report directly to the owner and be part of an entrepreneurial enterprise where you can help drive growth, enhance our current offerings and create new ones. You will play a significant role as we expand our catering and obtain a beer and wine license. You will provide oversight and leadership to the kitchen manager and to our multiple cooks and cashiers.
Must live within 45 minutes of Newton MA and have a car (not accessible by public transportation) and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
You will be working five days a week, which include one weekend day, during the hours we are open and for prep and closing -- approximately an 11 hours.
You will be expected to:
- Create a positive experience every day for our customers by providing quality food in a timely and courteous manner.
- Develop and motivate staff to maximize their performance.
- Maximize profits by managing inventory, ensuring optimal staffing and appropirate portion control.
- Work the line each day with cooks during the lunch and dinner rush to expedite the process of preparing and delivering our quality product, setting an example and showing employees the right processes and procedures to follow,.
- Assure prep work is completed during the morning, afternoon and evening for that day and the next day.
- Oversee the preparation of pizza dough, marinades, salads and dressings, ensuring compliance with recipes and portion control
- Manage inventory working with staff to identify low levels or needed items which will be obtained from Restaurant Depot or ordered from other vendors
- Work with owner to schedule kitchen and cashier hours to provide quality service at minimum cost
- Learn the POS system so you will have the opportunity to interact with customers at times
- Maintain safety standards, proper sanitation and temperature control over food preparation and storage
- Oversee and expedite orders, ensuring their timely and accurate fulfillment
- Ensure the front of the house is clean, neat and properly stocked at all times.
- Develop new items or new business working with the owner.
