APRN / PA Float / Urgent Care / Primary Care

Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO, is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to float between our Volusia County facilities.  This position is 40 hours weekly, with flexible scheduling based on need. Either 5–8-hour days or 4–10-hour days, or 3–12-hour days and 1–4-hour day. There will be a mix of primary care and urgent care.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure
• Minimum 3 years’ post licensing experience, working independently, in family medicine, urgent care clinics or a combination.

• Graduate of an accredited program, APRN, NP, or PA program
• Ability to treat Urgent Care presentations: (Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.)
• Foreign body removal
• Laceration repair, Suturing skills
• Abscess I & D
• Diagnose, treat, & splint fractures
• DOT Certification required within 30 days
• Professional examination experience (i.e. Firefighter’s physicals, etc.) preferred
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience (good typing & computer skills)
• Worker’s Comp experience preferred
• Great Customer Service and Communication skills with patients and their primary care physicians
