JOB SUMMARY
As a Motor Tour Driver, you are responsible for providing exceptional customer service while transporting passengers and conducting tours throughout Catalina Island. We are seeking a professional and enthusiastic Motor Tour Driver to provide safe, reliable and enjoyable tours to our guests.

This candidate MUST have a valid California commercial driver’s license (CDL) and a passion for delivering customer experience while adhering to safety standard and schedules. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Safely operate tour vehicles, including buses
• Provide engaging and informative commentary about local landmarks, history and attractions during tours
• Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance issues
• Assist guests with boarding, luggage and respond to inquiries
• Maintain accurate logs for mileage, fuel, passenger count and trip details
• Drive tours through the town of Avalon and into the interior of the island
• Ensure exemplary customer service
• Deliver commentary on the history of the island, wildlife, flora, and fauna
• Properly document any accidents or incidents

Position Type:  Seasonal
Season Dates: April- October

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The pay scale for this position ranges between $24.00-$26.00 per hour.

The total compensation package is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and education or training. 

SCHEDULE

This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.

QUALIFICATIONS
 

• This candidate MUST have a valid California commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement
• Cleaning driving record and ability to pass a background check and DOT drug screening
• Pervious experience in driving commercial vehicles, preferably in the tourism industry
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Must be able to deliver a commentary while driving passengers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Comfortable speaking to groups in a dynamic environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Our workplace is clean, lighted and ventilated with proper safety compliance.  Noise levels are considered medium and daily physical activities are considered moderate.  Employees must have the stamina to work long hours if assigned.  Hours and days of work may vary by position.  Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment.  Up to 50 lbs. Also this role you must have the ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle safely.   This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
